Person shot with paintball in laneway near Yonge and Dundas Square

Toronto police are investigating after an altercation ended with a man being shot in the face with a paintball near Yonge-Dundas Square Sunday evening.

Police said they were called to the Victoria Street Lane and Shuter Street area for a report of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found a victim with non-life-threatening injuries. The person was transported to the hospital.

The victim told police the incident began as an argument with unknown suspects, which escalated. The victim was then shot in the nose with a paintball gun.

The suspects then fled the area.

No description of the suspects has been released.
