A 21-year-old man has been charged following the death of another man in Mississauga, Peel police said Saturday.

Peel police said they were called to a residence on Glen Erin Drive near Britannia Road at around 10:45 a.m. Saturday for a report there had been an altercation between two men.

“During this altercation, the victim, a 34-year-old man from Mississauga, suffered life-threatening injuries,” police said in a news release Saturday. “Despite first responders’ attempts to render aid, the victim died due to the injuries he sustained.”

Police said they have charged a Mississauga man with Second Degree Murder in connection to the incident.

He will appear in court on Sunday, police said.

Investigators said the case is still in the early stages and ask anyone with information to contact the police directly. Tips can also be left anonymously with Crime Stoppers.
