Toronto Public Health investigating COVID-19 exposures at 2 polling stations

By News staff

Toronto Public Health is investigating potential COVID-19 exposures at two polling stations for the federal election, including one during advanced voting.

The locations are Presteign Heights Elementary School on St. Clair Avenue East on election day, September 20, and Kingston Road United Church at 975 Kingston Road on September 11-12.

TPH says all high-risk contacts related to the Presteign Heights exposure have been contacted and the risk to the public remains low.

However, anyone who attended the polling station on St. Clair between 9:30 a.m. and until voting and counting was completed is asked to self-monitor for symptoms.

If you develop symptoms, you are asked to get tested immediately even if you are fully vaccinated.

Since the other exposure at Kingston Road United Church happened more than two weeks ago, TPH is publicly naming the location to be transparent and ensure the public is notified.

There are no further details on how many cases have been connected to these exposures.
