2 injured in Scarborough dog attack

A man and a woman were treated for dog bites after being attacked in a Scarborough neighbourhood.

Police were called to Neilson Avenue and Kingston Road just after 1 p.m. for reports of a loose dog biting people.

Area residents tell CityNews the couple in their 20s were being attacked by their own dog and sought shelter in a trailer until police arrived.

Police eventually contained the dog in the back seat of a police car until animal services arrived to take it away.

Paramedics say they treated a woman and a man for minor injuries They were both taken to hospital as a precaution.
