Woman dead, 5 others rescued in Mississauga fire

A woman has died following a house fire in Mississauga.

Firefighters were called to the blaze on The Credit Woodlands near Dundas Street West and Mississauga Road just after 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

Officials say six people were rescued from the home and one patient was absent vital signs.

Peel Paramedics say an adult female was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition.

Police later updated to say a woman in her 70s was pronounced dead.

The Ontario Fire Marshall’s office has been notified and an investigation into the cause of the blaze is underway.
