Man arrested in Brampton stabbing

One man is in custody following a stabbing in Brampton on Tuesday.

Peel police were called to the area of Railroad Street and McMurchy Avenue North around 5:30 p.m.

Police say an altercation took place between two people in the hallway of a residential building, which led to one of them being stabbed.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a male victim suffering from a stab wound. He was conscious as paramedics assessed him and was taken to a trauma centre for treatment in stable condition.

The suspect fled on foot and was arrested shortly after.

An investigation is ongoing and there is heavy police presence in the area.
