1 in custody after woman slashed in North York

One person is in custody and a woman is in hospital after she was slashed with a knife in North York on Wednesday night.
Police say it happened on Halcyon Lane in the Finch Avenue West and Talbot Road area at around 7:15 p.m.
When officers arrived, they located the victim at the scene.
She was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Police later determined that the incident involved a mother and her son and mental health-related issues are suspected.
The son will be taken for mental evaluation and police say it’s not yet clear if charges will be laid.
