2-year-old boy critically injured after car struck stroller in Ajax

A two-year-old boy is in hospital in life-threatening condition after being struck by a car while in a stroller in Durham Region.

Police say it happened on Williams Street near Salem Road in Ajax around 7 p.m. Sunday.

The driver of the vehicle was reversing into his driveway when the child was struck. The boy was then taken to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries where he remains in critical condition.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances that led up to the incident.
