Peel police officer charged with robbery in off-duty incident

A Peel Regional Police officer has been charged with robbery stemming from an off-duty incident back in January.

Investigators say the incident occurred on January 29 in the area of Queen Mary Drive and Sandalwood Parkway in Brampton.

Const. Sukhdev Sangha, who is a two-year employee with Peel police, is facing a single count of robbery. He has been suspended with pay.

No details regarding the robbery have been released.

Three others, Karanveer Sangha of Brampton, Sukhdeep Kandola of Brampton and Jasmeen Bassi of Markham had previously been charged with robbery in connection with the incident. They are currently awaiting trial.

Const. Sangha is expected to appear in court on Dec. 12.
