Toronto broke a daily temperature record on Friday, reaching an unofficial high of 20.3C at Pearson Airport. That edged out the previous record of 20.1C which was set in 1987.
The unseasonal warmth will stick around on Saturday, when CityNews meteorologist Natasha Ramsahai predicts another record could fall.
“We just skimmed into record high territory today,” she said. “And we will probably just break that record high for tomorrow as well, getting up to 21 C.”
The current record for November 5 is 20.4 set in 2015.
“The warm pattern continues for one-and-a-half to two more days, then we will be coming back to seasonal through the beginning of next week,” she said.
But Saturday will also bring some wild winds, with gusts between 70 to 80 kilometres an hour expected in the evening.
Between 10:00 and 11:00 p.m. we can also expect some rain to start falling, but things will clear up by around 6:00 a.m. Sunday and the rest of the day will be sunny with a high of 18C.
A reminder that clocks go back one hour early Sunday morning with Daylight Saving Time coming to an end. The clocks will fall back one hour at 2 a.m.
The City of Toronto is urging drivers to stay alert as there will be fewer daylight hours and reduced visibility for the commute home.
