York Regional Police is appealing for information after six home invasions were carried out in Markham in the past two months.

Authorities say the armed robberies happened between Sept. 26 and Nov. 21, with most of the home invasions occurring between 3 a.m. and 4:30 a.m.

The first reported robbery happened on Sept. 26 when three men broke into a home on Glaceport Crescent. The men stole various items from the house and fled.

Police said on Oct. 4, four men entered a home on Jewetts Court and demanded cash from the residents. The suspects stole items and fled in a vehicle.

Over a month later, on Nov. 14, police said three suspects forced their way into a home on Taurasi Court through the back door. The suspects stole cash and property and fled in a getaway car. One day later, four masked men broke into a residence on Hollingham Road through the back door. Police said several items were stolen, and the suspects fled the area.

On Nov. 18, three male suspects broke into a different home on Hollingham Road, this time through a patio door. They stole money and cell phones and escaped the house.

On Nov. 21, police were called to a home on Quantum Street after several suspects broke in through the back door. They demanded cash and electronics from the residents and fled.

York police say the suspects were armed in every incident, though no physical injuries were reported.

A spokesperson said that “while these incidents are concerning,” police assure residents that Markham is safe and that home invasions are rare.
