York Regional Police are trying to identify a suspect wanted for breaking into a Richmond Hill comedy club and setting fire to the establishment’s bar, causing damage.
Investigators were called to Jokers Theatre and Comedy Club Toronto, on York Boulevard near East Beaver Creek Road, around 11 a.m. on August 22 for reports of a break-and-enter.
Police said officers found the comedy club’s front doors had been smashed open, and the suspect poured an unknown accelerant over tables and ignited it, causing damage to the business.
No injuries were reported.
Authorities believe the suspect entered the establishment around 2 a.m. and was scared away by a delivery truck that arrived at the comedy club shortly after.
The suspect was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, possibly with a Calvin Klein logo, a black
face mask, dark pants and light-coloured shoes.
