Hold-and-secure lifted at east end schools after reports of man with gun

Hold-and-secures have been lifted at a dozen east-end Toronto schools after police searched the area for a person with a gun.

Toronto police say officers responded to the area of Danforth and Broadview avenues around 11 a.m. Wednesday after getting reports that a man was armed in the area.

Const. Victor Kwong tells CityNews there were no reports that any shots were fired. Officers continued to search the area for two hours before updating that the area was clear around 1 p.m.

Police say the City Adult Learning Centre has been cleared by the Emergency Task Force. A hold-and-secure has been lifted at the following schools.

 

Police will remain on scene to assist parents reuniting with students

A heavy police presence remains in the area.
