Man, 22, charged in father’s murder: Hamilton police

A 22-year-old man allegedly behind the murder of his father in Stoney Creek, Ont., has been arrested, Hamilton police said.

Authorities were called to a home in the Trafalgar Drive and Mud Street West area just after 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 11.

Officers located a man with severe injuries, and the victim was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.

That man was identified as 56-year-old Kuldip Singh of Stoney Creek, Ont. On Monday, police said the suspect is 22-year-old Sukhraj Cheema-Singh, the victim’s son.

Cheema-Singh had been wanted by investigators for first-degree murder after allegedly fleeing in a dark blue 2022 Ford Edge SUV with the Québec licence plate FSC 7432 that was last seen travelling northbound on Trafalgar Drive towards Mud Street.

Cheema-Singh was arrested on Monday and will appear in court tomorrow.
