Heads up, Toronto property owners: the City of Toronto is issuing the final property tax bills for 2024.
After the interim tax bill was issued in January, the city is making residents aware that the second of two annual property tax bills are coming soon.
Due dates under the regular payment schedule are July 2, August 1 and September 3.
If you signed up for pre-authorized payments, make sure your address is updated with your bank and the city. Automatic deductions will be made from bank accounts, credit or debit cards based on the number of instalments in your plan:
- Two-instalment plan: July 2
- Six-instalment plan: July 2, August 1 and September 3
- 11-instalment plan: July 15, August 15, September 16, October 15, November 15 and December 16
In a release, the city says there are several ways you can pay your property tax bill including:
- Online and telephone banking
- In-person at a bank teller/ATM or at the property tax and utility counter at City Hall or civic centres
- Dropping off a cheque at a service counter or mailing it
- Using MyToronto Pay – a digital payment platform
The city says the funds from the final property tax bills will go towards accelerating capital projects, infrastructure needs, enhancing public spaces and general maintenance.
Payments must reach the city by the end of the day on the due date.
