Police ID man fatally shot in driveway of North York home

Toronto police have identified a man who was shot and killed outside a North York home early Monday morning.
Authorities were notified of a shooting at an address on Fairholme Avenue, located in the Lawrence Avenue West and Allen Road area, just after 4 a.m.
Police said a man was found without vital signs in the driveway of a residence. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim was identified as 69-year-old Mariano De-Marco of Toronto.
“He’s a father, a grandfather, an uncle, and there’s a lot of people that are very upset by his death,” Det.-Sgt. Aaron Akeson told reporters at an update on Monday afternoon.
Authorities believe the shooting was targeted but have not shared any suspect information.
“I believe that this shooting was targeted. The reason for that I can’t elaborate on at this point,” Akeson said.
The homicide unit has taken over the investigation.
