A 16-year-old boy has been identified as the victim in a fatal shooting at an Etobicoke apartment complex on Tuesday night.

Officers were called to a complex in The East Mall and Rathburn Road area at around 5:30 p.m.

Two male victims were found at the scene. Both were taken to hospital, where one of the males died of his injuries.

He’s since been identified as Isaiah Fogah, 16, of Toronto.

The other victim, aged 19, suffered serious injuries.

Police told 680 NewsRadio that Fogah was found in a stairwell while the other male was located on the 18th floor of the building. Authorities say the shooting took place inside the building.

A building resident who lives on the seventh floor told 680 NewsRadio that she heard gunshots, and then two males banged on her door, screaming to call 911.

Two suspects wearing masks were seen fleeing. No further descriptions are available at this time.

Duty Inspector Phillip Sinclair said he understands this is a very concerning incident for the building’s residents and those affected.

“We do want to assure the public at this time that we are putting all the necessary resources in place to help to identify those responsible to solve this homicide,” said Sinclair.

Sinclair added that it was too early in the investigation to determine whether the victims lived in the building.

The Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation.
