Teen boy charged after stabbing at Uxbridge high school

Durham Regional Police have charged a 16-year-old boy after a stabbing at a high school in Uxbridge on Monday.
Officers were called about an armed person at Uxbridge Secondary School at 127 Planks Lane at around 11:45 a.m.
When they arrived at the school they located a male suffering from a stab wound. He was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries and later released.
Investigators say the suspect remained at the scene and was taken into custody without incident.
The boy, who can’t be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was charged with assault with a weapon, assault cause bodily harm, fail to comply with an undertaking and release order, and carry concealed weapon.
He’s being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
