Elderly man critically injured after being struck by TTC bus in Scarborough

An elderly man sustained life-threatening injuries and is recovering in hospital after he was struck by a TTC bus.

Toronto police were called to Ellesmere Road and Morningside Avenue just before 6 p.m. on Monday for a collision involving a pedestrian and a bus.

The 73-year-old man was taken to the hospital with a serious leg injury, but his condition was later updated to be life-threatening.

The TTC bus driver remained at the scene.

Police are asking local residents, businesses, and drivers who may have security or dash camera footage of the area or incident to contact investigators.
