Councillor expenses revealed; accusations of overspending at City Hall

TORONTO, Ont. – City Hall is being accused of overspending after the councillor expenses were revealed.

Councillor Sandra Bussin, Beaches-East York, Ward 32, is the big spender – dropping over $29,000 dollars, so far, this year on professional services along with printing and postage expenses.

Councillor Doug Holyday, Ward 3, Etobicoke Centre, has spent $829 this year and said that while council needs to be careful, the rules also need to be changed.

“We need a mayor that is going to step in and do something about this. We’ve never had a mayor that would do anything about it. Mel Lastman let it run wild and David Miller certainly didn’t try to do anything about that. Council just needs to change its ways,” he said.

Once again Rob Ford’s expenses came in at zero, with the mayoral candidate paying for everything out of pocket.
