A man from Oshawa and a former restaurant manager is facing charges for allegedly sexually assaulting his employees at the workplace, Durham Regional Police said.
An investigation was launched in March 2024 after two former employees came forward alleging that their manager had sexually assaulted them.
Police said the male suspect, known as “Ram,” worked at the restaurant One Eyed Jack’s, located at 33 Taunton Road West.
The accused no longer worked at that establishment, but police noted that he may be employed at other restaurants in the Greater Toronto and the New Hamburg/Kitchener area.
On Thursday, police said 38-year-old Jeyaraam Sivagnanasundaram of Oshawa was charged with three counts of sexual assault and two counts of sexual exploitation.
Investigators are concerned there may be more victims. His photo has been released.
