Disturbing graffiti found at three Markham schools

York Region Police hate crime officers are investigating after disturbing graffiti was discovered at three schools in Markham on Sunday evening.

CityNews was able to confirm graffiti appeared overnight at two schools – William Armstrong Public School and at Markham District High School.

“There was mainly anti-Semitic, KKK type messages at William Armstrong and then at the high school it was more racial slurs,” said York regional police inspector Al Almeida.

Investigators believe the same suspects were responsible for all of the incidents reported and that it occurred sometime between late Saturday night and early Sunday morning.

Police officers are canvassing the area and are looking for any available surveillance footage.

Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
