A Toronto police officer went above and beyond the call of duty on Friday afternoon, piggybacking a pedestrian over a flooded street following a downtown watermain break.
The gushing water may have closed a stretch of Sherbourne Street, but it didn’t halt pedestrian traffic thanks to a friendly officer with a strong back.
Noticing a woman wearing flip flops standing at the corner, the officer steps into action and lets her hop on his back while he wades into the wetness.
An audible “awww” can be heard from a gushing bystander.
Another pedestrian even helps out after noticing the woman’s flip-flop fall off during the impromptu ride.
The pedestrian fetched the fallen footwear and for a moment Toronto The Good had lived up to its famous moniker.
