680 good news report: Rudy Blair inducted in Humber College hall of fame

The Humber College Radio broadcasting program celebrated its 40th anniversary at a special event on Thursday.

At the event, four alumni were inducted into its hall of fame, including 680News music and entertainment reporter Rudy Blair.

Blair has won several Radio and Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) awards, has been the Rogers Centre MC for the Toronto Blue Jays and TV studio audience host for “Canada’s Got Talent.”

He said he owes a lot to his family who supported him going to college.

“My parents, my family sacrificed a lot to help me get to where I am today,” Blair said

John Hinnen, vice-president and general manager of 680News and Rogers radio news programming — who is also a member of the Humber College Radio Broadcasting Hall of Fame — presented Blair with this honour.

Hinnen said it’s quite the accomplishment.

“In this day and age, we don’t spend enough time recognizing the achievements and take enough time […] to recognize all the things that we’ve done,” he added.
