Video of brutal attack on Baltimore police employee released

A reward of up to $32,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest of three suspects in connection with the brutal attack of a civilian Baltimore police department employee.

Surveillance video released by police shows the 59-year-old victim, dressed in Islamic clothing, is first approached by one of the suspects before two other individuals, a man and a woman, arrive on e-scooters.

One of the suspects knocks off the man’s head wear before knocking him down and repeatedly stomps on his head, leaving him lying motionless in the middle of the street.

The suspects then take the man’s car keys, according to police.

The director of Maryland outreach for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) described the attack as a possible hate crime but a police statement stopped short of calling it that.

The victim, described as a police crime lab technician, was treated and released from hospital.
