3 boys charged after teen stabbed at Vaughan Mills Mall

York Regional Police are investigating a stabbing at the popular Vaughan-area mall. A teenager was taken to Sick Kids for treatment.

Three youths are facing charges after a teenager was stabbed at Vaughan Mills Mall Thursday evening.

Police said the 14-year-old boy was stabbed outside one of the entrances to the mall around 6 p.m.

The victim was taken to hospital where he remains in serious condition.

Police said following the stabbing, the three suspects fled inside the mall.

With the help of mall security video, police said they were able to identify the suspects and quickly track them down.

A 14-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and assault with a weapon. A 12-year-old boy and a 13-year-old boy have each been charged attempted murder – party to the offence, aggravated assault – party to the offence, and assault with a weapon – party to the offence.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact them directly or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers.
