Man, 35, sought in fatal Jan. 2 shooting in North York

Toronto police have issued a Canada-wide warrant for a suspect wanted in a fatal shooting of a 37-year-old man two days into the new year.

Police were called to the area of Weston Road just south of Highway 401 shortly before 6 p.m. on January 2 following reports of a shooting.

When they arrived they located a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The victim has been identified as Ariyo Fakomi of Toronto.

Police have issued a warrant for 35-year-old Shawn Powers of Toronto, who is wanted for second degree murder.

Investigators say he is considered armed, violent, and dangerous.
