Power restored to hundreds in Midtown Toronto
A power outage affecting around 700 homes and businesses in Midtown Toronto on Tuesday morning has been restored after nearly 12 hours.
Toronto Hydro says the outage is was roughly bounded east-west from Mount Pleasant Road to Spadina Road and north-south from Eglinton Avenue to Bloor Street.
It was first reported shortly after midnight and the power was expected to be restored by 8:30 a.m., but Toronto Hydro only completed restoration to a majority of customers around 12:30 p.m.

Outage update: We’ve been able to successfully restore power to the majority of customers. Crews continue to work as quickly and safely as possible to bring power back for the remaining customers.

There is still no word on the exact cause of the outage but crews were on site investigating an underground cable fault.
The TTC says the outage was impacting fair vending and gates at St. Clair and Summerhill stations. They were asking customers to tap Presto cards at the next working station.

Drivers in the area are being reminded to treat intersections with traffic lights still out as a four-way stop.
