Investigation underway after North York Catholic school extensively vandalized
Toronto police are investigating after St. Augustine Catholic School in North York was severely vandalized over the long weekend.
Investigators tell CityNews that police received a call regarding an incident at the school around 4 p.m. on Monday.
A spokesperson for the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) says the second floor is closed off, but the elementary school will remain open, calling the damage extensive.

The TCDSB says there was broken glass, and school materials were vandalized and thrown around. The students who are generally on the school’s second floor have been dispersed to other areas while staff cleanup.
A letter was also sent to parents and guardians regarding the incident.
Toronto police say a motive is unclear, only confirming that the matter is under investigation.
