What’s open and closed in Toronto over Christmas

Christmas lands on Sunday this year which means the holidays will be observed on the 26th and 27th for some businesses and services.

It means an extra long weekend for many and could lead to some confusion as to what days things will be open and closed in the city.

In Toronto, almost all city attractions will be open on Boxing Day.

Many of the city-run skating rinks will remain open through the holidays, including Nathan Phillips Square and the Bentway. Full schedules for city-run rinks can be found here.

Casa Loma is open daily for both daytime and evening programming like Christmas at the Castle (9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.) and Holiday Lights Tour (5 p.m. – 10 p.m.) with the exception of Christmas Day on Dec. 25. Information and tickets are available at www.casaloma.ca.

Almost all major movie theatres will operate every day through Christmas.
