Man, 60, dead after morning collision in Scarborough, others in hospital

One person is dead after a collision that forced a car into a field in the Brimley Road and Lawrence Avenue East area of Scarborough on Monday morning.

Both Toronto police and fire services arrived on the scene just before 11:00 a.m. after reports of two vehicles involved in a crash where one vehicle went off the road and into a field.

An investigating officer tells CityNews that the driver of a Toyota Camry, a 19-year-old man, was heading westbound on Lawrence Avenue and hit an SUV in the intersection. The driver of the SUV, a Toyota Venza, was trapped and had to be extracted from the car.
