‘MASH’ actor Allan Arbus dead at 95

MASH actor Allan Arbus has died. He was 95.
Arbus played psychiatrist Maj. Sidney Freedman in only 12 episodes of the show, but made an indelible impression on fans.
He died at home, his daughter, photographer Amy Arbus, told the New York Times.
After MASH, he appeared in Matlock and movies like Cinderella Liberty and Damien: Omen. His last onscreen appearance was in Curb Your Enthusiasm in 2000, the Times reported.
Arbus was born in New York City, where he met and married Diane Nemerov. After their marriage, Nemerov took her husband’s name and both became known for their photography.
Exhibits of Diane Arbus’s work continue to be shown after her 1971 death. The pair had two daughters, Amy and Doon.
Allan Arbus married Mariclare Costello in 1976. They had a daughter, Arin.
Arbus is survived by Costello and his three daughters.
