Marshalls to open four locations in GTA

TORONTO, Ont. – Another U.S. retail name is moving north of the border.

The Toronto Star reported four Marshalls locations will be opened in 2011:

• Warden Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East
• Colossus Centre at highways 400 and 407
• Durham Centre in Ajax
• Entertainment district, King and Richmond streets

Marshalls is the U.S. corporate sibling to Winners and HomeSense, all owned by TJ Maxx.

The chain store offers off-price brand names, but with more of a focus on family footwear and fashions for men.

The Toronto Star reported Marshalls is one of several large retailers with plans for the downtown core, with the condo boom seeing an influx of new residents and potential shoppers.
