Police investigating after noose found at construction site in Regent Park
Toronto police are investigating after a noose was found at a closed construction site in Regent Park, the second incident of the type reported in June.
Officers were called to the building around 11 p.m. on June 27 in the Dundas Street East and Sumach Street area.
It was reported workers arrived to the closed construction that is not accessible to the public and found a noose hanging from the ceiling of 29th floor.

The Hate Crime Unit has been notified and both the construction company and site owners are assisting in the investigation.
This is the second incident of a noose being reported at a construction site in June. Employees found two nooses at an area under construction at Michael Garron Hospital on June 10.
EllisDon, the company heading that construction project, said the nooses were strategically placed and that the act appeared to be racially motivated.
The Hate Crime Unit has been advised, and both the construction company and owners of the site have been assisting in the investigation.
Toronto police say they have seen an increase in the number of hate-motivated incidents, including where race or ethnicity have been a factor, over 2019.

They added that hate-motivated crimes often go unreported so their figures are not likely an accurate reflection of what people in the city have experienced.
Dozens attended a rally against racism in Regent Park on Sunday, the day after the noose was discovered.
