Man with serious injuries after shooting in East York, no word on suspects

A man is in hospital with serious injuries after a shooting in East York.

Toronto Police say it happened around 11 a.m. Monday morning on the 10th floor of a high rise near Cosburn Avenue and Pape Avenue.

EMS say the victim is in stable condition suffering from a single gunshot wound.

Resident of the building, Don, says he know something was up when we returned from a nearby store, “I thought maybe somebody had a heart attack or such but then, firetruck, police officers and then it started to escalate from there. Five, ten, twenty cars, so I knew something was up.”

Don recognized the victim as he was rolled out of the building on stretcher. He describes him as a ‘relatively nice guy’.

Toronto Police are asking anyone in the area at the time with information or dashcam footage to reach out to police.
