Impaired, sleeping driver arrested with firearm and large quantity of cash

The Ontario Provincial Police Highway Safety Division says its officers arrested and charged a man that was found impaired and asleep in his car with a loaded firearm and large sums of cash.

Toronto OPP located a man asleep in his vehicle and arrested him for impaired driving. The subsequent search of the car led officers to discover a loaded firearm and a quantity of cash.

It’s unclear where the arrest was made.

The driver was held for bail, and OPP confirmed he had been charged with multiple firearms offences, resisting arrest, and impaired operation.

No one was hurt.
