Woman dead after fire in Dundonald and Church streets area
A woman is dead after a fire in the Dundonald Street and Church Street area on Tuesday morning.
Emergency services responded to a call just after 4 a.m. about a fire, and Toronto paramedics say one woman was found unresponsive and later was pronounced dead on scene.
An elderly woman was killed in early morning fire inside this rooming house on Dundonald St by Church/Wellesley. The small fire started in room around 330am & was quickly put out. Woman found in room/pronounced on scene. No word yet on cause. Smoke alarms WERE working pic.twitter.com/eanpxfRdOD

The fire was contained to one unit and most occupants have returned to their units in the building.
The Ontario Fire Marshal is investigating.
Church Street was initially closed from Dundonald Street to Wellesley Street East, but lanes closed have reopened.
