1 woman dead, 3 others injured in Brampton shooting

Homicide investigators have been called in after one woman was killed in a quadruple shooting in Brampton on Saturday morning.

Peel police say just after 6 a.m. a vehicle with six people in it was at a commercial complex on Rutherford Road South near Selby Road, just west of Highway 410, when another vehicle pulled up and opened fire on them.

Peel paramedics tell CityNews a woman suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another woman was taken to a trauma centre in critical condition suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

A third woman and the male driver were taken to a hospital with serious but non-life threatening gunshot wounds.

Two other women who were in the vehicle were not injured.

Police say this appears to be an isolated incident and they are continuing to investigate the circumstances that led up to the shooting.

No details have been released on the suspect vehicle or how many people may have been involved in the shooting.
