18-year-old dead following single-vehicle crash in Oshawa

An 18-year-old male died following a single-vehicle collision in Oshawa, police said.

Emergency crews were called to the area of Grandview Street North and Rathburn Street, near Taunton Road East, just after 4:30 a.m. on Monday.

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) investigators say the male driver, 18, crashed into a light standard and sign. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other details were immediately available.

The roadway was closed for several hours while evidence was collected. This collision is still under investigation.
