Students and labour groups staged two rallies as the strike by college workers entered day four on Thursday.
Members of the Ontario Public Services Employees Union (OPSEU) and other labour groups gathered at noon at York University’s Keele Campus, in a show of solidarity with the 12,000 striking professors, librarians and counsellors.
Also at noon, students rallied in front of the Ministry of Education, at Bay and Bloor streets. The students planned to walk to the legislature and ask MPPs to help get teachers back to work.
Police said road closures would be in place.
Talks broke off between the colleges and the union last week and no new talks are planned.
