A Toronto police officer has been charged after he allegedly shot at a man who was trespassing at a construction site.

In a release, Toronto police said Const. Jason Levesque, 44, and his partner attended a call at a construction site near Yonge Street and Queens Quay East around 11:15 p.m on Nov. 15.

An alarm was triggered at the site, and police were told two males were inside the restricted area.

While searching the premises, police said Levesque fired his gun at a male suspect. The bullet missed and struck a construction shed.

On Tuesday, police arrested Levesque and charged him with a single count of careless use of a firearm.

He’s scheduled to appear in court on April 4.
