An underground explosion led to power outages and road closures in Leslieville on Thursday afternoon.
Police say the explosion appears to have occurred inside a manhole at the intersection of Gerrard Street and Pape Avenue around 2 p.m. and the cover was blown off.
The window of a nearby home was broken but no injuries were reported.
Toronto Hydro said the explosion was a result of an underground cable fault dislodging a cable chamber lid and was not a hydro vault.
3-1-1 and hydro crews were on scene to investigate and clean up and roads have now reopened.
