Injury-Plagued Argos Beat Roughriders; Williams Suffers Broken Arm

But the victory was costly for the Boatmen – Toronto lost quarterback Spergon Wynn to a head injury and it looks like Ricky Williams is out indefinitely after he broke his left arm.
Wynn was in the game for Damon Allen who’s been off the field for three games due to a broken finger on his throwing hand.
The 27-year-old QB was looking upfield when Saskatchewan’s Scott Schultz sacked him at the end of the first half – a brutal hit that knocked his helmet off. He was taken off the field on a stretcher and transported to hospital in an ambulance.
Williams broke his left arm in the second quarter after an awkward fall. He’s playing for the Argos while serving a one-year suspension from the NFL, but has had lackluster season so far for Toronto posting just 53 carries for 214 yards.
Bashir Levingston came through for Toronto with two touchdowns – his first coming at just 3:47 of the first quarter. He had an 88-yard punt return, which was the CFL’s first kick return major of the season.
And he grabbed a key reception in the second quarter on a 50-yard pass from Wynn.
The Roughriders got two touchdowns in the last 69 seconds of the game, with Dominique Dorsey scoring an 18-yard TD run and Corey Grant caught a 46-yard TD pass from Kerry Joseph. But the effort wasn’t enough after Jeff Johnston added another TD for Toronto in the final quarter.
This win puts the Argos in sole possession of third place in the East Division.
