Raps Beat Warriors, Win Third Straight

The Raptors won their third straight game Sunday, ewven though for the third straight game they were without all-star forward Chris Bosh.

Morris Peterson was available however, and the veteran swingman led the Raps with 23 points as they rolled to a 120-115 win over the Golden State Warriors at the Air Canada Centre.

Six Raptors scored in double figures with T.J. Ford finishing with 21 to go with 14 assists.

Andrea Bargnani, Anthony Parker, and Jorge Garbajosa had 18 apiece, and Rasho Nesterovic chipped in 13. Bargnani also had 10 rebounds and a career-high six blocks.

Monta Ellis had 28 points to top Golden State (9-15), while Baron Davis added 20.

It was the first time the Raptors (10-14) have won three straight games and Toronto’s 120 points were a season high for the club.

Unfortunately, what was otherwise a positive win in front of a nice crowd at home was overshadowed by some frightening moments in the fourth quarter when Jose Calderon was taken off the court on a stretcher after suffering a back injury.

The Spanish guard fell hard vying for a rebound with just 32 seconds left on the clock and the game was delayed several minutes while he was strapped to a spinal board.

Without Bosh for the fifth straight game the Raptors played as a team, staving off a late Warriors rally that was capped by a Matt Barnes three-pointer with just over four minutes left that cut the lead to five. But they wouldn’t score another field goal until there were just 19 seconds in the game.

Up next for the Raps is another grueling road trip, which gets underway Tuesday in Phoenix against the Suns. The four-game, five-day trip also includes meetings with the Los Angeles Clippers, Portland Trail Blazers and Seattle Sonics.
