The Ex Set To Open Friday

Just when the summer seems to be getting started in Toronto, the unofficial end to the season is here.

The Canadian National Exhibition is set to open this Friday for another year of midway rides, Whack-A-Mole and, of course, Tiny Tom donuts. For aviation buffs, the popular Canadian International Air Show marks its 60th anniversary.

But besides the standards, CNE officials say there’s a lot new to check out.

A couple of highlights: skateboarder Tony Hawk will make a special appearance at the Ex’s new surf wave machine and Bill Clinton will speak at the BMO Field in an open air forum.

To celebrate Toronto’s 175th birthday, admission on opening day is $1.75.

The Ex runs from August 21 to September 7.
