Arrest Made In 2009 Double Murder

Durham Regional Police have made an arrest in a 2009 double murder.

Harjinder Singh Sandhu, 28, and Puneet Singh Chhina, 26, were found shot to death on May 5. Their bodies were discovered in the trunk of a car in Pickering.

The vehicle, a stolen rental car, had been left in an isolated wooded area near Taunton and Rosebank.

In December, investigators revealed that they believe that the two were murdered near Kennedy Road and Sheppard Avenue and then driven to a second location.

Police aren’t saying specifically where he was arrested, Sgt. Nancy van Rooy told CityNews.ca

He is charged with:

  • First Degree Murder (two counts)

  • Forcible Confinement (two counts)
  • Use Firearm in Commission of an Indictable Offence (two counts)

The investigation is ongoing. If you can help, call police 1-888-579-1520 ext. 3270.
