Explosive Found In Warehouse Linked To 2009 Murder

An explosive device found in a warehouse on Wednesday evening has been linked to a 2009 murder, Durham Region Police allege.
Officers were called to a storage facility on Progress Avenue that allegedly contained weapons as well as explosives.
They shut down the Don Valley Parkway and parts of the Lakeshore to transport the explosive device to the Leslie St. Spit. GO and TTC lines were also closed for the dangerous journey.
The detonation was so powerful it shook houses as far away as Gerrard St. and Woodbine Ave.
Durham Region Police became aware of the possible cache while investigating the deaths of Harjinder Singh Sandhu and Puneet Singh Chhina.
The bodies Sandhu, 28, of Brampton and Chhina, 26, of Nepean, were found dead in a parked car in Pickering on May 5, 2009.
Vijay Singh, 29, and John Le, 38, have been arrested in connection with the deaths.
No one has been arrested in connection with the weapons and explosive material.
