Dalton McGuinty Opens Twitter Account

Premier Dad is finally Tweeting.

Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty opened a Twitter account Monday, which his staff say will let him speak directly with residents about what he’s up to.

He says he decided to join on the good advice of friends and family.

McGuinty is a latecomer to the political ranks of the Twitterverse.

Both his opponents — Progressive Conservative Leader Tim Hudak and NDP Leader Andrea Horwath — already Tweet regularly.

Many other premiers have been using the social networking website, including Gordon Campbell, Ed Stelmach, Greg Selinger, Jean Charest, Brad Wall and Shawn Graham.
