Rossi explains departure

It was the fresh polling by Ipsos Reid that forced Rossi to free his campaign team, who were deflated to learn that his level of public support has slipped into the four per cent range rather than grow into double digits.
Support for Rossi declined by three points in the poll that put him in last place.

Rossi refused to endorse any of the other candidates although his internal polling reportedly reveals that the second choice of many who support him would be Rob Ford — who now trails behind George Smitherman.
The Ipsos Reid poll puts Smitherman slightly ahead of Ford at 31 per cent of decided voters.
