At least 14 passengers injured on Air Canada flight to Switzerland

TORONTO, Ont. – 14 passengers have been injured – seven of which have been sent to hospital – after an Air Canada flight to Zurich reportedly ran into severe turbulence.

Air Canada officials told the CBC the incident occurred on board flight 878, a Boeing 767 that departed from Toronto.

The turbulence began only 90 minutes before the plane was scheduled to land.

Six of the people sent to hospital have since been released, while one is being held for observation.

There were 95 passengers on board in total.
